Team Transport Brings More Lifting Work In-House

Team Transport & Logistics added a TIDD PC28-3G to bring pick and carry crane capability into its own fleet.

The move helped the Brisbane-based business support existing client work, reduce reliance on outsourced lifting and expand its service capability.

Team Transport & Logistics has been operating since 1979.

The business has grown into a major logistics operation with 200 employees, 500 pieces of equipment and 150 contractors.

The company had built a strong reputation for handling awkward and difficult freight.

Even with a large fleet and broad capability, larger pick and carry crane work had remained outside its core service offer.

Team Transport & Logistics had long-term clients with regular lifting requirements.

Those jobs had often been outsourced, which created added risk and reduced control over the customer experience.

The team needed a crane that suited its safety standards, operator needs and customer workload.

It also needed to support newer operators while fitting into busy urban and infrastructure work.

Team Transport & Logistics selected the TIDD PC28-3G after research, demonstrations and operator feedback.

Kylie Wilkinson visited operators, reviewed available options and assessed how the crane would fit the business.

The TIDD PC28-3G gave the team 28 tonne maximum lifting capacity, a four-section telescopic boom, 2.5 metre width and 44-degree articulation.

Its manoeuvrability made it suitable for tight sites and varied project work.

Safety was a key part of the decision.

Kylie has pointed to Slew Safe, camera systems, operator visibility and counterweight safety systems as important reasons for choosing the TIDD.

The crane also uses a Cummins engine, which Team Transport’s in-house mechanical team already understood.

This helped simplify routine maintenance and servicing.

The TIDD PC28-3G arrived late in 2024 and was soon supporting contracts across South-East Queensland.

It became well used in the first quarter and added capability across jobs that needed lifting and logistics support.

The crane has supported Energex contract work and has also handled a challenging boat delivery.

Kylie has said the TIDD gives Team Transport more confidence when clients bring complex jobs to the team.

The business is now monitoring performance, utilisation and customer response before deciding on further crane growth.
