What is TRT?

TRT is a private family owned and operated business, with its headquarters in Hamilton, New Zealand. The company has been in operation for 50 years and specialises in the design, engineering and manufacturing of customised solutions in the road transport and construction industries.

What type of jobs are available at TRT?

Roles at TRT are varied and there are opportunities from the shop floor to management across all three of our locations in NZ and Australia.

What qualifications do I need to work at TRT?

We employ people in a range of jobs, so your skillset and experience depend on the type of job you are interested in. We do have an apprenticeship and traineeship programme, allowing you to learn on the job and we encourage professional development for all our staff.

What is TRT’s policy on safety at work?

At TRT we are committed to providing our staff with a safe working environment. We want all our team to come to work safely and be able to return home at the end of the day, safe and sound. We have a strict health and safety policy and an active health and safety committee to ensure all staff are trained to the highest health and safety standards.

Do you do drug testing?

Yes. TRT is committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of our team. All successful applicants will be subject to pre-employment medical and toxicology screening in line with Company policy. There are no exceptions.

What is the work environment like at TRT?

We are a family owned business and like to spend time with each other, both during the day and outside of work. We all share a passion for the industry and have an active social club and committee that everyone is invited to join. The social club has been going for 30 years! There are social events and activities throughout the year, some that will include partners and others that are for the team only.

Do you accept applications or enquires from people overseas who want to work in New Zealand?

Yes. We need the right people, experience and skills. Sometimes we cannot find these skills locally.  For the right candidate we will assist with the immigration process and visa applications. We have very strict criteria as do Immigration NZ. Find out more here.

Do I need a CV?

Not always, but it is preferred.  We have an HR team that can conduct verbal interviews; however, you may be required to provide some information including evidence of qualifications, trade experience and references.
